Solar Eclipse on June 21: The solar eclipse will start at 10.23 a.m. and last till 1.48 p.m. It will be 95 percent around noon. Himachal Pradesh is popularising the eclipse by arranging its viewing within the capital on June 21, Officially said on Friday.

Solar Eclipse viewing will be organized by the Himachal Pradesh Council for Science, Technology, and Environment (HIMCOSTE) near the state Secretariat and at the Ridge only for limited viewers.

The aim is to popularise and promote the science of eclipses and take away the misconceptions and superstitions related to such quite celestial events, Officially told IANS.
HIMCOSTE has asked all Deputy Directors of elementary education to Organise solar filters and make them available to the general public to witness the unique event in their respective districts.
